Where in Tokyo?

Many clubs exist in Shibuya and Roppongi, both are located in urban region of Tokyo. The rough summary of regions you have to know for clubbing in Tokyo is like below.

Shibuya

Crowded with so many young people including students. Many good bars and restaurants with cheap price are in there. The budget for clubbing would be also cheaper compared with Roppongi and Azabu region. You can access by train and nearest station is Shibuya station.

Roppongi

Roppongi is place for adults. Fewer students are in there but many wealthy and non ordinary people are hanging out every night. Due to the fact that so many foreign companies such as Google, GoldmanSachs have head branch office in Roppongi, you may notice comparably many foreign people are in there. There are so many good restaurants, you can eat mesmerising beautiful Sushi or something with expensive price. You can access by metro and nearest station is Roppongi station.

Azabu

Azabu locates near Roppongi and can be reached from Roppongi station on foot. Azabu is very unique city because Azabu region itself is basically consists of residence. So, at glance, you cannot see Azabu as attractive city. However, in fact there are so many good restaurants, bars and clubs that are not only for everone but limited exectives. You can access by metro and nearest station is Roppongi station or Azabu-Juban station.

Ginza

Ginza locates in central Tokyo. Ginza is famous for luxurious shopping and hostess clubs. Many executives of large conglomerate have dinner in very expensive restaurants. Due to this, Ginza could be see as for above middle-aged people. The situation for clubbing is similar as restaurants. You can access by metro and nearest station is Ginza station.

Shin-Kiba

Because Shin-Kiba is warehouse district, there are nothing special to see in Shin-Kiba other than ageHa which is biggest club in Japan. The access from central Tokyo is bit pain. You can access by metro and train and nearest station is Shin-Kiba station.

Famous Clubs in Tokyo

If you have read DJ mag, you would know WOMB in Shibuya, ageHa in Shin-Kiba. Although both presumably have good sound quality, there are more crowded clubs in Tokyo. Which one is recommend? Let me check out.

Womb

ageHa

Lounge Recommendations

GERONIMO

GERONIMO is shot bar that has been on Roppongi for 21 years. It's very famous and popular in foreign people working and living in Roppongi. GERONIMO has been operated by Mogambo asia group and they have two bars in Singapore, Mogambo SG and Hero's in Boat Quay, Geronimo HK in Hong Kong. English Welcomed and can be recommended for foreign travelers.

VIVO

VIVO also operated by Mogambo asia group and opened in 2016. It's more like a lounge than clubs or bars.

IVY

Azabu-Juban (Part of Azabu area) became unique place these days for its traditional and down town aspects. IVY had been exists in this fascinating area for two years and crowded with many foreigners.

Appropriate time for clubing

Just like many urban cities in world, clubs in Tokyo would be crowded around 2AM. Usually many clubs open at 10 or 11PM and gradually crowded from 0AM. So I recommend you that start hang out from 8PM or after and start clubbing 0AM until 3 or 4AM.
Note that many trains, metros and buses end their operation around 0:30AM and start them around 5AM. You can only use Taxi that bit expensive way compared with other cities after midnight.

Entrance fee

The entrance fee of clubs in Tokyo is from \2,000 to \4,000 and it depends on events and which area you'll visit.
Ladies can entry without any fee in some clubs (almost every clubs in Roppongi).
The price of alcohol is from \500 to \1,000 and it depends on city where you go. The prices tend to be expensive in Roppongi and cheap in Shibuya.
Note that you have to pay entrance fee again if you go out from clubs.(No Re-Entry)

Rules

Most clubs prohibit that you enter clubs without valid ID (Passport is necessary) confirmation and you have to be over 20 years old. You can keep your belongings to coin lockers or cloaks.
Most clubs have dress codes. (No shorts, slippers, singlets and tank tops)

Wanna hang out?

One of the most attractive point of Japan is delicious food. Not only mighty michelin rated restaurants but cheap bars provide brilliant foods. The good news is Shibuya and Roppongi where many clubs exist are also proper city for hanging out. These are recommendations for foreign people.

It's natural to feel that you wanna hit on asian chicks if you're a man. Unfortunately despite its international fame of Tokyo, it's basically more difficult to pick up girls compared with other countries because girls in clubs in Tokyo don't speak fluent English.
